Unless you’re in middle school right now, it’s probably been a minute since you last thought about the joys of spelling out words on your calculator when you should have been paying attention in class. Fortunately, one r/AskReddit thread unlocked a bunch of core memories when its OP asked a question so simple, it’s amazing I haven’t heard it before: “Non-English speakers of Reddit, how do you write ‘boobs’ on the calculator in your language?”

Obviously, for English speakers, it’s 80085. Now, thanks to this thread, you’re about to become fluent in this incredibly niche linguistic field, with commenters from Brazil, Serbia, Ukraine, Finland and more checking in to share the equivalent in their languages.

In Brazilian Portuguese, it’s 50135, which you then turn upside down, which translates to “seios,” and for an added bonus, there’s also 5013550738, which spells out “belos seois,” or “nice tits.” In Serbian, it’s 3515, which also has to be flipped, resulting in “sise,” while in Ukrainian it’s 1515 for “sisi.” In some Spanish-speaking countries, it’s 73745, or “tetas,” while in Finnish it’s 715517, or “tissit.”

Some users shared examples of other words they spell on calculators in their native tongues, including one Turkish user who wrote, “In Turkish we have a different word for calculator writing. LEBLEBİ (1837837). Which is a type of snack made by roasting chickpeas. Feels so innocent compared to the rest lol.”

Less innocent are the ways people spell “sex” on the calculator in their languages, including 05535 for “sesso” in Italian, or 37708 flipped, which spells out “bolle,” the verb for having sex in Danish.

If they’d focused on teaching kids the kind of mathematics and linguistics that actually matters like this illuminating Reddit thread did, maybe people wouldn’t hate math and/or French class quite so much.
