Though road rage may evoke images of mid-intersection brawls, screaming matches through rolled-down windows, and that one episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, it seems there’s a new way to duke it out with another a-hole motorist from the comfort of your vehicle — swerving in front of them.
In a now-viral clip shared to r/PublicFreakout on Wednesday, one pickup truck driver was less-than-thrilled that an SUV tried to pass them while on the highway, opting to give classic New York City adage of “Hey, I’m driving here!” but rather give them the ride of their life.
After refusing to let the car merge ahead, the pickup trick cemented itself in front of the sedan, swerving from lane to lane, its lights beaming full blast, as the other driver did their damndest to get around.
While it’s unclear what, exactly happened after this game of IRL Mario Kart — the truck ultimately stopping in the middle of the highway, its foe still behind it — we’re gonna tell ourselves that they exchanged handshakes and a stern-lipped “good game” before safely arriving at their respective destinations.
