Amid all the concerns plaguing TikTok livestreamers, weird commenters, the platform’s strange moderation rules, and JOI fetishists allegedly tricking them into creating adult content, another threat is coming for their gigs and limbs – sword-wielding attackers who can and will slice your hand off for all your followers to see.
Late last month, a creator on Douyin, TikTok’s Chinese “sister app” per CNN, found himself confronted with just that after a rouge assailant crashed his IRL stream, allegedly chopping off his hand with a sword as his IRL stream continued broadcasting.

He was streaming on Douyin (Chinese TikTok) when the situation unfolded.

Horrifying onlookers and the 99 viewers witnessing the gory incident occurring in real-time, the attacker appeared to chase the creators after the initial slice, recordings of the incident quickly going viral on social media, Dextero reported.

The following day Police in Xiamen, China, acknowledged the attack, sharing that they had dispatched several first responders in the wake of the incident, one allegedly catalyzed by a prior argument between the streamer and the attacker.
