Most of the time, when people “get a dog for their protection,” the animal is pretty ineffective at actually protecting its owner. Unless you train your pup for the specific purpose of being a guard dog for your home, any attempted robbery is unlikely to be foiled by your pooch — unless your robber is put off by tail wagging and incessant barking.

The dog in the video below, however, is built different. When some potential thieves tried to jump this dog walker, his pet sprang into action, ending the whole crime before it even started.
