For diver Alexis Jandard, this nightmare scenario turned into an embarrassing reality on Thursday, when he fell square on his a— during the inauguration of the Paris Aquatics Center ahead of this summer’s Olympic Games.
French Olympic diver Alexis Jandard, 26, slipped and fell into the water as athletes performed in the inauguration ceremony of an Olympic aquatics centre north of Paris yesterday. In reply, he said: "Thanks for the support! For your information, my back is fine, but my ego…" pic.twitter.com/jtCcyyATfl

While it remains unclear what, exactly went wrong, the painful schadenfreude was undeniable, Janard appearing to slip off the board, bouncing on his back and his a— before rolling into the water below.
Though the slip looked as though it hurt, neither Janard — nor his pride— were seriously injured in the ordeal, the athlete taking Instagram to share his thoughts on the embarrassing moment — and give a nod to President Emmanuel Macron, who watched the whole thing go down.
“I slipped, boss,” he wrote in French alongside a snap of his scraped-up back.
But hey, it could be worse. Janard will always have Paris … to redeem himself in the eyes of the world and his President come summer.
