One relaxing lawn care Saturday turned deadly for Alexei Chernykh, a Police Lieutenant Colonel in the Russian Police force, after he was blown to smithereens by a drone strike as he mowed his lawn.

Though Ukraine has not claimed responsibility for the strike, which hit near Chernykh’s country home by the Ukrainian border, news site Baza reported that he was, in fact, killed "after a Ukrainian drone dropped ammunition on his garden in Shchetinovka."

"Alexei had a day off and was mowing the lawn," they added.

As the story quickly spread around the globe, one group proved particularly passionate about his demise — lawn enthusiasts.

“The punishment for bad lawn care can be steep,” u/Clemson_19 captioned a post that quickly took off on r/LawnCare.

“Next time my wife asks me to mow the lawn, I am sending her this news article,” commented u/bullzFromAT.

“Jesus, crabgrass… can this day get any worse?” joked u/Taco_Bacon, as u/Rambo_11 credited the incident with bringing “a whole new meaning for ‘nuke it.’"

Meanwhile, others began speculating on what exactly Chernykh’s neighbors would think of the brand-new crater where his prized lawn used to reside.

“These HOA’s are getting crazy,” wrote u/AtomInTheUniverse, while u/Vast_Philosophy_9027 speculated his heirs would only “get one week to fix the hole.”

And they're not wrong. We can only hope that Chernykh’s family gets their lawn fixed in time — Heck hath no fury like a homeowner’s association scorned.
