We’ve covered more LGBTQ+ conspiracies than we can count, including the notion that LGBT stands for “let’s get bubble tea,” the seven seconds we all believed P!nk had come out as gay, and of course that chemicals are turning “the ‘frickin frogs gay per Alex Jones, a rainbow-themed theory conspiracy has re-emerged from the bowels the 2007 internet just in time for Pride Month – the suspicious truth behind the simple concept of “refraction.”

A clip uploaded by Seattle-based creator @majorhustler questioning the chemicals responsible for the visible rainbows in misty waters, began making the rounds on TikTok, sparking confusion and concern.

“I’m just wondering what the heck is in our water supply, what the heck is in our oxygen supply of the metallic oxide salt that creates a rainbow effect in a sprinkler?” said the voiceover, placed atop a clip of a public fountain sporting a vapor rainbow.

“What is oozing out of our ground that allows this type of effect to happen, not just around our son and our moon anymore, anywhere we look the visible spectrum is rainbows,” the audio continued, noting that the phenomenon “cannot be natural.”  “We all know it wasn’t something that happened 20 years ago, but now it’s happening now.

The clip concluded with a powerful call to action: “ We as a nation have got to ask ourselves what the hell is going on.”

The audio in question is not @majorjustler’s but from a 2007 YouTube clip entitled “Sprinkler Rainbow Conspiracy,” which has 2.2 million views since it was uploaded 14 years ago. @majorjustler’s usage of the audio, in what we assume is jest (?), has amassed nearly 200,000 views in two days, the majority of which centered on the evident failures of our education system.

“This is why we shouldn’t be banning books,” commented TikTok user @daddysfever2.0 alongside a series of facepalm emojis.

“It’s called science,” quipped @gingercoder. “It’s in the pipes.”

So if you’re feeling a little bit gay this month, that’s fine, at least you aren’t stupid.
