To hear teachers tell it, the kids aren’t alright. You don’t want to be one of those people who drones on and on about how “phones are ruining kids’ brains,” but it very well might be possible that, uh, phones are ruining kids’ brains. Teachers have reported all sorts of nonsense from the modern classroom, ranging from kids who won’t stop using totally incomprehensible slang to, more concerning, kids who can’t pay attention to class for more than a few seconds.
They also don’t always believe their teachers, which, while occasionally a healthy instinct, can lead to some awkward and bizarre situations. For example, this teacher had to work really, really hard to convince her students that slavery was, well, slavery.
