A Quick 'Feature' Question to eBaum Users

Hello All,

I'm new to the community, and I don't want to give anyone the idea that I know what I'm talking about. Cuz I don't. I'll try to make this short and sweet.

I was talking to a friend earlier and from what I can understand, it's easy to have someone else take credit for your upload, even when you uploaded the content first. My immediate response to this was, "Couldn't they just check the upload date and give credit to the rightful user?" Again, from what I gathered, this isn't the way it happens.

My question to you is this: If someone uploads an exact copy of your already uploaded media, then gets that media featured, can the mistake be fixed? Has a situation like this been corrected in the past?

Assuming that I'm correct, and mistakes like these aren't fixed, I'd like to give my argument as to why this should be changed.

The overall idea (at least, the one I've picked up on) of eBaum's World is to sift through all the content the internet has to offer, then bring back to eBaum's only the absolute best. If people are rewarded for the reposting of other users' findings, this would only encourage more reposting. If a mistake was corrected and the original uploader rewarded for his feature, this would eliminate the desire to repost. Could you imagine eBaum's World with 0 reposts? I know, it's a fantasy world, but I can dream :)

Anyway, to those of you who actually made it to the end of this blog, thank you for listening. This is my first blog here, as well as my first few weeks on the site. So, hello to everyone, and please don't murder me on the comments... please.
