How is language translated into the mind of an individual? Say that I say something like, "Yellow..." Does the person or persons whom I am talking to actually hear "yellow?" what's to say that those people don't hear "purple, black grey, heads, tails, car, bus, etc." instead?

I see me in the mirror, I see you in the eyes, but do we see each other eye to eye?

...Doubt it.

To me you probably look like a rhinocerous; and to you I might look like a gazelle...which in turn all translates back to a cetrain shade of yellow.
