Lets talk czars shall we?  I am not talking about the old Russian Czars, I am talking about the czars here in the US.  Many presidents starting with FDR had Czars.  Bush and Clinton had czars.  These czars are basically people hired by the president to help advise him on "stuff".  So in essence, they are presidential advisors.  I thought the cabinet members were supposed to be the presidents advisors, but I guess I was wrong.  Anyway, Obama has more czars than any other president and some of them are of very questionable character and background.

I have some questions about our current czars: What qualifications must a person have to become a czar or a personal advisor to the president? How many of them besides Van Jones have a criminal record? Sorry the former czar Van Jones.  How much power do the czars have?  Why do we need czars when we have the cabinet?  Are these advisors (czars) working to better the country or are they working to further their ideals?  How did Van Jones who is a self proclaimed communist become a czar?  Who pays for the czars and where does the money come from?  These were just a few of many questions I have.

Let us now focus our attention on the FCC Diversity czar, Mark Lloyd: Mark Lloyd is here to save the day and put liberal radio back in the spot light whether we want it or not.  Mark Lloyd has stated and I quote, It should be clear by now that my focus is not freedom of speech or press.  This freedom is all too often an exaggeration.  At the very least blind references to freedom of speech or the press serve as a distraction from the critical examination of other communications policies.  Are you kidding me????  His focus damn well better be on the preservation of freedom of speech and press!!!  You see Mark Lloyd is more concerned with implementing some sort of fairness doctrine than he is with true 1st amendment rights.  Lloyd has claimed that 91% of talk radio is conservative and only 9% is progressive.  Who cares?  If that is true that means most people would rather listen to conservative talk radio.  Air America is a perfect example.  It was a complete and dismal failure.  But Lloyd disagrees.  He feels that large corporate broadcasting networks have driven liberals off the air, but he has a solution that is fair and diverse.  Lloyd thinks private broadcasters should pay should pay licensing fees which equal 100% of their operating costs.  WHAT!!!!????  This money would then be transferred to outlets such as NPR and PBS.  So once these broadcasting companies have paid this tax, how in the hell are they supposed to operate without any money?  Interesting question.  I think Mr. Lloyd is on to something here.  But, redistributing these funds is not enough, Lloyd wants these private broadcasters programs to be regulated by the government.  Lloyd wants to make sure that radios stations are focusing on diverse views and government activities.  What the hell???  This guy is going to be in charge of overseeing FCC diversity?  Since when is it necessary to have the government regulate diversity in broadcasting?  HORSECRAP!!!!!

Before closing let me leave you with one final quote from Mr. Lloyd.  State radio in Rwanda was taken over by one tribe and they began to put out propaganda, so that the Tutsis were targeted and what resulted from the fact that state radio was able to do that essentially was mass genocide in Rwanda.  But the state for this particular tribe which controlled the radio very purposefully to make sure there was media and social change.  In Venezuela, with Chavez, really an incredible revolution-dramatic revolution-to begin in place saying that were going to have an impact on the people of Venezuela the property owners and the folks who were then controlling the media in Venezuela rebelled-wok frankly with folks here in the US government-worked to oust him and came back and had another revolution.  And Chavez then started to take the media very seriously in this country.  Hmmvery interesting.  Sounds like he is pro constitution and capitalism to me. 

So what I want to know is this: Why does the FCC have a diversity Czar?

How does Mark Lloyd plan to balance the airwaves?

Will broadcasters who leave the airwaves be allowed to switch to internet or satellite broadcasting without government regulations?

Since when does the government have the right to balance the airwaves and why does it need to be balanced?  Who determines when the airwaves are balanced?  Is it when conservative talk radio is all but wiped out?
