Lysimachia nummularia
Lysimacia nummularia, bacopa monnieri, lysimachia zawadzkii wiesner...That might look like I'm trying to cast a Hogwarts spell, but in fact I'm only citing the technical names for Twopenny Grass.
Otherwise known as Creeping Jenny.
I wouldn't be surprised if that's where she took her name from. I'd be interested for her to confirm or deny it. Creeping Jenny thrives in Europe and North America. In fact, it is a tough litle plant that quickly takes over, is easy to cultivate, and hard to kill. In the summer, it gets even prettier as it grows brilliant yellow flowers. It can also be used as an herbal medicine for healing wounds.
If she did choose the name for that reason, it was a good choice. Otherwise, it still describes her fairly well.
So...what about the rest of you lot?
Some nicknames on the site are obvious. Others are not so. Is there a reason you chose your nickname? Is there anyone you ever wished you knew more as to why they chose theirs?
After all...'What's in a name?'...it can be quite a lot, or just a last minute decision.
