The porn star career track isn’t for the faint of heart – suicide, social ostracization and consistently getting splooge in your eye aren’t exactly qualities that people look for in their jobs. Yet one porn star, Mia Khalifa, managed to rise above all of that to become the world’s most popular adult actress…and then quit.

If you’re gonna go out, ya might as well go out on top! Why stick around when the only place you can go is down? And it’s not like Khalifa was making any friends in the porn industry aside from horny teens spankin’ it to the freebie clips on PornHub. Not only did practically the entire Middle East brand her a “disgrace” for starring in a film where she sucked dick and got fucked while wearing a hijab, but ISIS started sending her death threats.

Now working as a sports host (girl just can’t seem to pull herself away from balls), Khalifa explained that ISIS was the main reason for her quitting the porn industry. “It all started to spiral out of control when the death threats from ISIS started coming in. That’s when I stepped away.”

“As soon as I started to gain popularity that’s when I was like ‘Get the fuck out of this.’”

Khalifa continues by saying that she wasn’t trying to become a famous porn star at the start of her career, and that all she really wanted to do was “let loose and rebel a little bit.” You know what most people do when they want to rebel? Steal silverware from restaurants. Lie on their taxes. Eat fast food every day of the week – y’know, stuff that won’t get you on the shit list for a religious terrorist organization.

But that’s the thing: Khalifa doesn’t even think her BangBros movie where she wore a hijab was even that bad. “There are Hollywood movies that depict Muslims in a much worse manner than any scene BangBros could produce,” she reasoned. A fair statement, although it seems like Khalifa hasn’t watched any of those videos where terrorists are chanting “DEATH TO AMERICA” and burning flags. To be fair to ISIS (a sentence I never thought I would ever type), it’s easier to pick on an individual – Khalifa – than it is to try and bully an entire country. Would you rather send one death threat to one person, or take the time to send 5,000 threats to 5,000 people? Yeah, same here.
