Mirandizing Terrorists
Ah, Miranda Rights. A constitutional right for AMERICAN CITIZENS accused of a crime. What is happening out on the battlefield is ridiculous. Terrorists we arrest do not deserve the rights of an American citizen. I'm tired of hearing "If you want to give these people a trial, you need to give them their Miranda Rights." Maybe, they don't deserve an American trial either. The right to a fair and speedy trial is also a right for AMERICAN CITIZENS, not terrorists.
When enemy combatants capture an American soldier, are they given any rights? No, the only thing they are given is an execution. I'm not saying that we should just kill every enemy soldier we capture, but they don't deserve the same rights as an American citizen.
Telling an enemy combatant "You have the right to remain silent" has to be the most retarded thing I've ever heard. There is a big difference between criminals and the enemy combatant. Miranda rights and the right to a fair and speedy trial are for criminals, not the people we capture on the battlefield.
