the title says it all.  i took my wife horseback riding for her birthday.  since i'm a big guy, they put me on this hulking three year old stallion.  it got spooked by a backhoe that drove past us and threw me.  i landed head first.  trying to prevent a christopher reeves, i stopped my fall with my left arm. 

i broke my radius, broke a chip off of my ulna, and ground a small bone in my wrist to powder (breaking open the joint capsule).  i then had to catch the horse.  after that, i had to get back on it and ride it an hour back to the stable one handed across some rough mojave terrain.

i just got back from the emergency room.  i've got three shots of morphine and two lortabs in me and i'm not even wasted.  the pain is too great to get buzzed from the meds.

i'm typing one handed, so no caps and less content.  i won't be posting quite as often for a while.  i'm going to an orthopedic surgeon a wednesday to see what kind of surgery i'll need for my wrist.
