I thought I'd offer a view on religion from a completely different angle. First of all, I'm Jewish and have been raised that way my whole life. We have always celebrated religious holidays, yada yada. I guess the 'Jesus loves you' doesn't apply because we shunned him a few thousand years back. lol.

Ever since I was little, I've gone to sunday school for the intent of Jewish education, and this year, I had my confirmation, which marks the end of Sunday school and now makes me an adult in the eyes of the Jewish religion. Everybody in my class made speeches and when they vocalized them in front of the congregation, I noticed that half of the people didn't know if God existed. I thought that was interesting because I felt the same way.

So I've recently put lots of thought into this and now I've formed my own perspective. I believe that God created the universe and all life, but I don't believe that people should rely on him, and the people should do the homework if they want to accomplish anything in life. You can't pray to God to get an 'A' on a test and expect it to happen if you don't study for it in the first place. I believe that God was responsible for putting us here on earth, but I don't think he takes responsibility in spoiling us and giving us everything that we want.

As for the athiests, I totally respect you because no God means that everyone is responsible for their own actions and that you also believe that nothing is given to you. You have to work for everything you own, and that's how I feel.

Now let's talk about the Middle East and the war on religion. First of all, I don't believe any religion is wrong, or that you'll go to hell if you don't think a certain way; not because Jews don't believe in hell (lol), but because I think that is a bad way to think.

Secondly, I don't hate arabs and actually think they are Justified in wanting Israel back. Because I'm a Jew, I feel obligated to back Israel on whatever it does. However, I disapprove of the actions the United Nations took to create Israel in the first place. They basically pulled the rug away from right under the Arab's feet, so to speak. I also wonder how the United Nations never saw this conflict coming. It wasn't like it came out of left field. What did they expect to happen when they take away someone's land. Their careless actions sort of piss me off. At the same time I feel the need to back my people, but at the same time, I feel the arabs should have a right to that land. I, personally feel neutral towards the situation, and all I want is peace. Sometimes I think the arabs can be over-aggressive in the war, but that's it. Also, it's not completely about Israel anymore. The Suunis are attacking the Shiites(sorry if I spelled them incorrectly) just because they believe in different things. This sounds so retarded to my ears. All I want is for this fighting to stop and for peace to be restored, but unfortunately, I don't see an end in sight.
