What in the World were you Thinking?
Well, I did just want to stick to writing blogs about cop stuff in order to educate and entertain, but unfortunately I let something get under my skin, and now once again I feel compelled to vent. In this blog I am not going to write any disclaimers, because those of you who are familiar with me already know where I stand on most issues.
Earlier I read two blogs written by an individual who was stating his reasons why he was not voting for Obama, and the other blog was a short write up about the Russian/Georgia situation. I am not writing to counter those blogs, because the Obama blog was well written and he gave solid and well thought out reasons for his stance. The same applies to the other blog. But, at the same time I do not completely agree with his views. What really pissed me off were some of the comments I saw on both blogs, but mainly the Russia/Georgia blog. Now, I am not writing this to complain about free speech and all that horse crap. I am well versed on the issues of free speech and I know that anyone can say anything they want; blah, blah blah. I bring this point up right away because I was accused of complaining about free speech. Let me say this, I certainly was not making any reference to infringing on free speech.
Moving along. What really got me fired up was a comment, and I quote, “I applaud the Russians, and hope this conflict leads to the reinstatement of another Soviet Union. God knows we need someone who can push back.” This is such a crazy and ludicrous remark that I don’t even know where to start, but I will try. To me this comment screams, “I hate the USA.” Who in their right mind would actually root for the Russians when it comes to their foreign policy or anything else for that matter? Remember, the Russians are still being led by the old Soviet regime; they are just a bunch of old KGB cronies who still dream of an empire and would love nothing more than to see the demise of the USA. Anyone who thinks otherwise is surely naïve and misguided. The Russians are still an enemy to the US and that did not change when the Soviet Union fell and they had to let go of all their satellite countries. The attacked Georgia for the sole purpose of showing the world they are not dead, and they are still a force to be reckoned with. They are simply flexing their muscles and letting Georgia know they do not like the fact that Georgia is one of our allies, and the Russians certainly do not want Georgia to join NATO, which Georgia would love to do. Now, getting back to the ridiculous I applaud the Russians comment. I want to know who the Russians need to push back against, and I want to know what this person means by “we?” “We” certainly does not apply to me, because I sure as hell do not want to see the rise of another communist Russia/Soviet Union. They were and are a thoroughly evil, corrupt and a twisted government. So, yes let us hope they come back on the scene and suppress any and all rights that the citizens have. Let us root for the rise of the Soviet Union so they can do away with any and all forms of religion, free thinking, free enterprise, free speech (not as free as the USA) and any other freedoms, no matter how limited these freedoms may be. And yes let’s hope the Russians/Soviets take back Georgia, the Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, etc… And who would the new Soviet Union be pushing back against? The USA? How F……ing stupid is that? For crying out loud man!!!!!!! Why don’t you just go to the Russian embassy and ask for political asylum and start learning Russian, then you can join the KGB, oh I’m sorry they don’t exist. Yeah right they don’t exist. Putin was KGB and always will be. He cannot stand the fact that the USA is the most powerful country in the world, and his country is piss poor. But do not worry my pro Soviet friend, Russia is starting to get fat off the oil they are selling and soon Comrade, you too can become a resident of a gulag if you wish. Me, I choose to root for the USA, even though I do not agree with everything that happens here and I do not blindly follow the government without question. I choose to view the Russians with suspicion, but not with contempt, even though they are our enemy. You, “Mr. I applaud the Russians” have shown your unpatriotic and misguided view of the world. Yes, I will say this again, you have every right to freely express your viewpoint, and that is great, but George Washington summed it up best when he said, “If the freedom of speech is taken away then the dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.” That is exactly what will happen to the Russian people if the old Soviet regime is reinstated.
