There was a rumor that Mr. Rogers used to be a Navy SEAL sniper who served time in Vietnam. The sweaters he wore were a result of him trying cover the Navy tattoos. It turned out to be untrue. -

You probably know the popular scare game called Bloody Mary and how you must say her name three times in the mirror for her to appear in your bathroom behind you. They say that Bloody Mary was a real witch killed for sorcery over 100 ago. In some stories even her full name pops up. There was no such person. -

The story about Kennedy making a fool out of himself saying "Ich Bin Ein Berliner" to Germans is not true. Although the word can relate to a kind of German pastry, the whole sentence was coherent and it didn't make any sensation back then. -

There's a story about a nice guy stopping his vehicle to help a stranded motorist. Then the individual he helped turns out to be millionaire and gives him $10 000 for his kindness, then drives off. That's a made up story, attributed to different celebrities. -

There is a story of a babysitter calling the parents asking if she could cover the clown statue in the living room. The father then tells her to run away with the kids, then call the police because the family did not own a clown statue. Some say that it's an altered version of a story where a midget was living inside a house unbeknownst to the parents, and was surprised by the babysitter's presence, so he pretended to be a toy. Never happened. -

A popular and often repeated myth is that the people in Beijing, China can no longer see the Sun through all the pollution and smog in their city. In reality, the photos showing the "polluted city" were taken during a foggy weather and although there is a lot of pollution in Beijing, they can certainly see the Sun through the smog. -

The story about a young girl who washed her hair in sugar water and wrapped them up overnight that got eaten by rats sounds pretty ridiculous. There was no such case and if someone claims that it's based on a true story ask them if they can at least tell you the name of the girl or where that happened. -

There's a fun fact going around the Internet that A cups are banned from porn in Australia by law. It's no fact. It's a made up story that got way out of hand. -

Soda can't dissolve teeth, no matter how long you expose them to it. There's no scientific research to back up this claim. -

A few years ago the tabloids sparked up a photo of Macaulay Culkin looking rather terrible. After that there was a lot of gossip about how the child actor became ruined his career and became a broke drug addict. It's not true. He looks fine, and he quit acting to become a musician. His band is called Pizza Underground, look it up.
