STORY OF JUNE AND JENNIFER GIBBONS-June and Jennifer Gibbons were a set of twins from Wales who lived their entire lives pretty much mute, only communicating with each other and no one else. They isolated themselves in their bedrooms for many years, playing with dolls and creating plays together. They turned to crime and committed a few acts of arson that got them both institutionalized. The twins reportedly had a longstanding agreement that if one died, the other must begin to speak and live a normal life. Jennifer died inexplicably while being transferred to a new institution, a death which June later described as a sacrifice in order for her to live a better life. "I'm free at last, liberated, and at last Jennifer has given up her life for me," June said. Jennifer's cause of death is still unknown -

SCAPHISM-Without going into too much graphic detail, scaphism is an ancient Persian form of torture and execution that will chill you to the bone. This days-long execution style often resulted in dehydration, starvation, and septic shock. All in all, it's one of the worst ways imaginable to die. -

PHANTOM TIME HYPOTHESIS-This is one Wikipedia page you can really get lost in. This historical conspiracy theory was brought into public thought by German historian Heribert Illig, in which he proposes that the year 613 was actually followed by the year 911. This would mean that everything that happened between 614 and 911 in the early middle ages of Europe and nearby regions is either wrongly dated or never happened at all. Illig has evidence to back up his claims, too: lack of archaeological evidence of the time period, the presence of Romanesque architecture and the relation between Julian calendars and astronomy all combine to point in his favor. -
