Ahh, the simpler times of yesteryears. Few would argue that the 80s had the BEST cereals, candies, cartoons, music and toys. Sure our hair styles needed their own zipcodes, our dayglo clothes were not nearly as rad as we thought, and our slang was like, totally bodaciously awful.... but the rest of our stuff was gnarly.

Cartoon express and Smurfberry cereal started Saturday mornings off right (swap Smurfberries for Nerd cereal with TWO sides- you could have Strawberry, Grape, OR... wait for it.. YOU COULD MIX YOUR OWN!!!!)

TrapperKeepers kept us all neat and organized. They were a right of passage (at my school, we couldn't have one until we were in third grade and OH did we feel like the big shits when we brought them to school that first day)

These stupid things would pop off at the worst times- in your food, in someone's face, and if they didn't pop off, getting them off felt a bit like wiggling a lose tooth)

McDonald's parties were THE way to go. You could even choose your birthday pressie from McD's - the McDonald's package or the Grimace.... Oh how I loved Grimace

Hey Dude was another after-school show you put off homework to watch.

Everyone you knew had this table and chairs (or you knew of at least a few who had it). You had the middle trim with one type of wallpaper above and another type below. It was smexy

Ernest saved Christmas, Ernest had about 2 million movies ... one worse than the next.... right vern?
