I've been told these were so bad they actually made people sick, the active ingredient to reduce cravings was benzocaine which is used to numb the pain and is used in cough drops. Later it was changed to phenylpropanolamine which was flagged by the FDA though it's still used to help incontinence in dogs. Yummmmm
