The world can be a pretty random and chaotic place at times, and most of experience that during our daily lives. Some things however (like winning the lottery or getting struck by lightning multiple times) feel more like the odds are astronomical and would never happen to us.

Here we have a collection of some truly once-in-a-lifetime happenings that not only happened, but was actually captured on camera, video, or otherwise. So browse through this collection and then maybe go buy yourself a lotto ticket.

A fighter pilot's plane took a large-caliber artillery shell right to one of the propeller blades.

This lucky guy almost had a final destination moment on their commute to work when a board flew through their windshield on the driver's side.
