Meme’s don’t belong to Gen Z. They’ve always been there, even at the most important theaters of history. World War II was the most harrowing, horrific, and significant conflict maybe in all of history. But it was still, at its heart, just a bunch of dudes hanging out. So of course there’s a lot of photos that are the 1940s equivalent of internet gold.

There’s a bunch of pics of soldiers goofing off with weapons, hanging out with bears, dogs and donkeys, and just generally engaging in buffoonery against a backdrop of war. The context of all these does give them a bit of cursed energy, because you know these lovable goofballs got their silly photos and then moved onto killing people - but that also kind of makes it more fun.

Also - we found some Hitler and Nazi photoshops. We don’t want to find real silly pictures of that guy, he doesn’t deserve to get laughs online.
