The Tallman’s Bunk Beds - In February 1987 Alan And Debby Tallman bought some bunk beds for their children. For the entire nine months that the bunk beds were placed in the house, there was a number of mysterious encounters that the family could not explain. When listening to the radio it would begin to change station, the children became ill and when they slept in the beds, they said that they could see a witch. Alan came home one day to hear a voice beckoning him into the garage saying ‘come here’ where he saw that the room was on fire. He ran out to get a fire extinguisher and on his return, the fire had disappeared. The only logical reason was to burn the bunk beds and once they were destroyed, the activity stopped. -

The Skull Of Bettiscombe Manor - The skull of Bettiscombe Manor is that of a Jamaican slave who was angered at being sold in slavery and taken away from his home and family; so on his death bed, he swore that he would never rest until his body was returned to his homeland. After his burial, there are many accounts of people who said that they could hear screams and cries from the graveyard. Other disturbances were said to come from inside the manor house where he was enslaved and for some reason, his skull is still there today. The rest of his skeleton has been lost. -

The Conjure Chest - Slave owner Jacob Cooley ordered one of his servants to make a chest for his son. Hosea made a beautiful chest for Cooley’s son but for some reason, Jacob was less than impressed with his efforts. He beat him so hard that he killed him. Cooley’s other slaves who were friends with Hosea, vowed to avenge his unjust death so they planned a ritual and got a ‘conjure man’ to place a curse on the chest. Cooley’s first born son died as an infant and there are seventeen other deaths also attributed to the curse of the chest. The curse has since been removed and the chest is on display the Kentucky History Museum in Frankfort. -

Valentino’s Ring - Valentino bought a ring in the 1920s and supposedly, when he showed off his new purchase to a friend, they had an image of him as a corpse. Valentino shrugged off the premonition but ever since this encounter, he was plagued with bad luck. His career flopped and he died not long after, his lover who also wore the ring became mysteriously ill, and the person who played him in a biography of his life also died having worn the ring. Years later, a man named Joe Casino bought the ring and waited seven years until he thought the curse was lifted until he wore the ring. He died a week later. -

The Myrtles Plantation Mirror - a slave girl poisoned a birthday cake killing 3 people. She confessed to the other slaves who were terrified that they would be killed by association, so they hung her and hid her body.Whenever a family member dies, tradition dictates that you’re supposed to cover all mirrors in the house so that their spirits don’t get lost or trapped. Apparently one mirror in the house was missed and it is said that the four women are stuck there. There have been sightings of the four of them, children’s hand prints are seen in the mirror as well as the women themselves. -

The Baker Museum Wedding Dress - the Baker mansion was turned into a museum and a wedding dress was placed inside Anna Baker's bedroom. People claim to have saw the wedding dress not only move, but sway. -

‘The Anguished Man’ Painting - rumor has it that the painting was plagued with the suicide of the artist who killed himself shortly after painting it. He also used his own blood on the piece as he mixed it in with the paint. Sean Robinson inherited the painting. After he hanged it on display, strage things started to happen. Voices could eb heard around the house. His wife felt someone stroking her hair when she was alone, his son fell down the stairs and they saw a shadow of a man show up in their house. Sean has since taken the painting down and hidden it in his basement but doesn’t want to sell it.
