1.
Robert Evans. Surviving a single accident may be a miracle for most of us but not for Robert Evans. One evening on September of 2008, Evans was hit by a motorist and left for dead. Robert was sent to the hospital, where he was discharged the next day at 3 am. While heading home, he decided to take a short-cut route, passing through a railway crossing. Then tragedy struck this poor man once again when he was hit by an oncoming train. Miraculously, Robert survived both times with minor injuries. -
2.
Roy Sullivan. Roy Sullivan’s name has been recorded in the “Guinness Book Of World Records” for being the only man in the world to get struck by lightning seven times. It all started while working as a Forest Ranger in West Virginia, Roy was first struck in 1942 and his last strike occurred in 1977. The only thing that did manage to kill this seemingly indestructible man was a self-inflicted gunshot wound. -
3.
Aron Ralston. In 2003, Ralston went out to do some rock climbing at the Blue John canyon in Utah when a rock suddenly slipped and trapped his right arm against the canyon wall. After being stuck there for five days straight, with no access to food or water, Aron’s only hope for survival was to cut his own arm off to escape certain death. His survival story was later adapted into a movie called "127 hours". -
4.
Harrison Okene. In May of 2013, the ship carrying Harrison Okene and his crew was sailing off the Nigerian coast when tragedy struck. Harrison was in the bathroom when severe waves hit and took his ship down. Still trapped in the boat, Okene managed to survive despite the minimal amount of oxygen still trapped inside the ship. When the rescuers finally arrived three days later, they were surprised to see Okene alive. -
5.
Peter Skyllberg. On December 19, 2011, Peter Skyllberg, a Swedish man, left his house only to have his car get stuck in a snowstorm. As the temperatures dropped to -30 degree Celsius, Peter was trapped inside his car with no food or water. Peter fed on snow and slept in the backseat of his car for over two months, until he was rescued. -
6.
Matthew Allen. Matthew Allen had run away from his house on December of 2012. The 18-year-old was found nine weeks later in the Australian Outback. Matthew was weak, disoriented, covered with mosquito bites and leeches. His feet and lower legs were almost fully consumed by gangrene. It was indeed a miracle how he managed to survive the record-breaking heat wave, without any water, shelter or food. -
7.
Unnamed British climber. When a British climber along with his crew descended Mount Blanc, they noticed an avalanche coming their way. While his friends managed to reach safety in time, this man wasn’t so lucky. But thanks to his survival instincts, he began to reach the top of the avalanche. When the avalanche descended 700 meters, he had almost reached the surface and escaped death without any serious injuries. -
8.
A 4-month-old Japanese infant. The earthquake and tsunami that hit the coast of Japan in 2011 proved to be the biggest natural disaster in the country’s history. While the rescue teams were looking for survivors, they came across a pile of debris under which a healthy and unharmed infant was trapped. The baby was quickly rescued and reunited with his family. -
9.
Reshma Begum. On April 24, 2013, thousands of employees in a garment factory lost their lives in a critical industrial accident. However, a woman named Reshma Begum survived under the rubble for 17 days straight until rescuers found her. The 19-year-old was immediately admitted to a hospital where she made a speedy recovery.
