1.
If someone told you this is your Birthday gift you would be in disbelief. But this is what it all began with, some mahogany and ash wood for the body, walnut mahogany and basswood for the neck, and hard-rock maple for the fretboard. -
2.
A rough idea of what it was gonna suppose to look like. -
3.
Cause you can't have enough clamps. -

7.
Headstock almost finished. -
8.
Gluing the body and the neck together. -
9.
Some more shaping... -
10.
...and of course LOTS of sanding. -
11.
The first sketch of the fretboard. -
12.
Sawing notches for the fretwire. -
13.
Polishing the fretwire. -
14.
Drilling holes for the fretmarkers. -
15.
This might be a Lego antenna... -
16.
Well.. it was, but not anymore! -
17.
-
18.
This is actually starting to look like a guitar now. -
19.
This dad decided he wanted to do a floating bridge on the guitar. A floating bridge holds on to the top by string tension, opposed to normal bridges that are glued to the body. -
20.
Creating some room for the pickups. -
21.
As well as some space for the electronics in the back. -
22.
Magnets to keep the lid in place. -
23.
After adding the last details, this is it! -
24.
-
25.
The son reacted- "What a magnificent thing isn't it? I can't even begin to explain how grateful i am... This is just more than i ever could have asked for." -

-
28.
What detail, huh? -
29.
Happy Birthday, Buddy.
