Leila, Liina and Lily Luik are from the Estonian town of Tartu. -
2.
Leila, Liina and Lily competed in the Rio 2016 Olympic marathon. -
3.
They have set up a Facebook page called Trio to Rio to gain support. -
4.
Incredibly the three siblings only took up serious distance running six years ago, "We have been active since childhood, we love dancing, we love to be active and this pushed us to professional sports," Lily said. -
5.
Liina, who got the sisters into running, said that long-distance running appealed to them more than the 'highly technical' nature of sprinting. After a couple of years, they realized they were good enough to take part in international competitions and from there, they decided to try for the Olympics. -
6.
But did the sisters succeed? Yes. Did they got a medal though? Not even close. -
7.
Lily was 97, Leila 114., and Liina, who got the sisters into running, did not even finish the race. -
8.
So how did they win? -
9.
The Luik triplets made it into Guinness World Records Book as the first identical triplets to compete against each other in the Games' 120-year history. -
10.
This is how you can win even though you lost. The triplets were born winners they just needed time to prove it. And their record is unbreakable; neat for them, right?
