Nine year old Jack Blunt had no idea when he woke up Monday morning, that this would be the best week of his life.

Nine year old Jack Blunt had no idea when he woke up Monday morning, that this would be the best week of his life. -

Jack was called to the school library thinking that he was there for a school related reason, not knowing that two Blue Jays were waiting for him. -

Here he is meeting Kevin Pilar and Ryan Goins. -

Both men were honoured to come visit Jack and bring him gifts, like hats and shirts, and most importantly: 4 tickets to Thursday’s Game 1 of the ALDS. -

Jack was nominated by his school through a program that was run through MLB, as both Jack and his brother lost their father due to complications from cancer, when Jack was in kindergarten. Even worse, last year, Jack was diagnosed with diabetes. -

When interviewed, Jack was in shock and even uncertain that they were there for him. He asked: “How did they even know about me?” -

Being a huge baseball fan and both a baseball and track athlete, there’s no better way to honour Jack than with this visit. -

Overall, both the players and Jack were touched by this gesture. “That was awesome,” Goins said after meeting Jack. “I think he was kind of in shock, but I was probably as nervous to give him the tickets as he was to see us here at his school.” -
