You probably recognize this cat, this picture of him got quickly viral...

...and he became a meme. He was called Chill Cat, Chilling Cat, Lazy Caturday Cat or was described "Every day is lazy caturday for this laid back cat".

Well this cat, Tombili, was an unofficial mascot of his neighborhood and when he died local authorities unveiled a statue of the rotund cat sitting in his favorite spot and hundreds came to pay tribute.

Tombili - a Turkish word often used for chubby pets - went viral after a photograph of him reclining was posted online. Many photo-shopped drinks into his paw, and joked that he looked like he ran the town. The cat died in August of a mystery illness, according to his owners. Posters appeared around the street where he used to sit, reading: “You will live on in our hearts, mascot of our street”.

While some say the statue can't possibly be uglier majority of people raised a glass of milk honoring the laid back feline.
