This may sound like a joke but if is not. On 26th of July a mother going up the escalator with her child was sucked in and died. The woman menages to save her kid right before disappearing.

The two attendants walked over the plate that was loose, and stumbled but the plate still was in place.

On new footage we could see one woman pointing the out danger moments before the victim went up the stairs. The attendances yelled to the woman with child but it was too late. Some ask about the safety switch.

The shocking death led to people being afraid of escalators and...

... trying to avoid the "dangerous plates" or checking out if everything is stable.

People are scared that the moving steps will swallow them or fall apart.

But others seem to think this is funny.

Needless to say last weeks tragedy left a giant impression on Chinese people.
