Airline Passenger Packs It On To Avoid Baggage Fees Matt Botten from Cardiff, England and his girlfriend were off to Iceland for a little R&R when Matt learned there was an extra cost to flying. While checking into his Easy Jet flight Botten was a bit annoyed to find out he had to pay £45 ($65UDS) for his extra baggage. But instead of forking out the cash, Matt came up with a better solution to the problem. He unpacked is bag and put layers of clothing on instead -

Matt wrote on Facebook: “And how to do it in a financially frugal manner, without having to stump up forty five bloody quid for a hold bag? Simply by wearing EVERYTHING I OWN.” Although all went well for Matt, this really shouldn’t become a normal practice when traveling. A few years back, James McElvar, a boy-band singer with Scottish five-piece Rewind dressed himself in six t-shirts, four jumpers, three pairs of jeans, two pairs of jogging pants, a pair of jackets and two hats in order to avoid the extra baggage fee. He thought he was having a heart attack when he passed out at 37,000 feet flying from London to Glasgow...
