Finland has over 40000 bunkers, that can take in 71% of their population. Every building over 600m2 has to have one.

There are a couple of types of bunkers: K- small bunker for a private house; S1- bunker for a larger house with surrounding terrain; S3- bunker in a mountain or a large facility made from concrete; S6- big bunker hidden in a mountain. These bunkers are checked once in ten years and those that are not suitable for use are suppose to be renovated by the owner.

But those bigger bunkers are not just laying in wait they are used as swimming pools, basketball courts, for hokey or martial arts and even for skating.
