A house gets crushed by a boulder, but the house is almost whole. How is this possible?

1.
It was about 10 30 when a family in Athens, Ohio heard a terrible noise.
2.
It was a boulder coming right at them!
3.
A boulder tumbled down an Ohio hillside, ripping out utility lines before crushing two cars and stopping on the house.
4.
The rock measuring 25 feet in diameter tore loose because of recent heavy rains and the growth of tree roots.
5.
“At first I thought it was thunder,” neighbor told “Then I saw sparks and thought it was firecrackers.”
6.
When the debris settled, there were downed phone, power and cable lines as well as a damaged underground waterline.
7.
The house was damaged and two cars in the driveway were totaled but...

...everyone was safe, and only part of a wall was damaged.
9.
The giant rock stopped "at their door".
10.
Cleanup workers pulverized the boulder into smaller stones so it could be hauled away.
