It's difficult to tell whether Ashrita Furman really is afflicted with some kind of motivated madness, or if "madness" is just something that was ascribed to him by people who are jealous that they never jumped up Mount Fuji on a pogo stick.

Born the same year that the Guinness Book of World Records was first published (1954), Furman has set more than 350 Guinness World Records, including the record for holding the most Guinness world records.

He once did forward rolls for 12 1/4 miles along the route of Paul Revere's Ride in Massachusetts--only stopping for the occasional vomit.

The first record he ever set was at age 25: He did 27,000 jumping jacks.
