Colin Furze, a 36 year old former plumber from Lincolnshire, has constructed a 3m deep bunker in his back garden and turned it into a ‘post-apocalyptic man cave’. -

Based on a rather simple plan, it took him two months to construct and has all the facilities you’d need in case of the end of times including non-perishable canned food and a filtration system (oh, and a cat! Because why not?)It’s fully functional with multiple rooms including a kitchen and ‘party area’.He has kitted it out with a widescreen TV, multiple game consoles and even a drum kit. -

“It’s a metal box in a hole – if you can weld and cut bits of metal then you can make one – the actual mechanics of it is quite simple, but it’s a huge project,” he said. -

“People have ideas, but don’t have time to make them and that’s where I come in,” Colin added. He describes himself as the “most famous inventor you’ve never heard of”. -
