He didn’t end up missing his flight, but he did end up in jail though. Dana Carter of Dayton called in a bomb threat to Cincinatti/Northern Kentucky International airport so he would avoid missing his flight. -

In October, he called the airport several times saying that a Dallas-bound flight had a bomb on it. The bomb threat did cancel the original flight. Carter was placed on another flight for Dallas less than two hours later. -

After further investigation, authorities found that Carter had made the calls to the airport.Carter later confessed that he had made the calls to avoid being left behind by his United Airlines flight. His attorney then said that the false threat was a “foolish act”. -

The 40-year-old was sentenced to four months in federal prison and ordered to pay a fine. Carter has been ordered to pay $7,700 in restitution to United Airlines for the canceled flight. Carter will be on federal probation for three years after his sentence has been served.
