Being a single parent is never easy, and I can only imagine that being a single parent to eight children is extremely taxing both emotionally and financially. And one would think that a mom would do whatever she had to do to make sure her kids were taken care of, right? Kind of, at least if that mom is Marie Buchan, a 37-year-old mother from Birmingham, England, with eight kids between the ages of three and fifteen. -
2.
You see, she receives almost $40,000 a year in welfare benefits because she just can’t keep a job. Why? She says she’s “too beautiful” to work. She has been trying to get experience as a mechanic, but says she has only met sleazy men at all the garages she has tried. -
3.
“They’re not really after me working there, they’re looking for something more,” she said. “I think they’re just dirty big perverts.” Called "Octomom" for obvious reasons, she's been roasted in the past by the media for leeching off the welfare system, but she says that when she tries to find work, she gets hit on instead. -
4.
“They’ll say things like, ‘What do you do when the kids aren’t around, would you fancy going for a drink, would there be anything else you’d like to do in the garage other than work on cars?’” -
5.
But just any ol' job won't do, as she wants to work in a garage around the "dirty perverts" specifically to combat sexism around cars -
6.
“I’m sick of driving into a garage where most mechanics seem to think, ‘We can rip her off, she’s a woman,’” she said. “It’s always been my dream and women are always getting ripped off — I want to put a stop to that.” Her dream, however, might stay just a dream because as her studies near completion, she can't find a place to get an apprenticeship despite what is obviously a humble demeanor. -

This isn't the first time Marie has tried to get a job while claiming benefits, however. You’ve got women in the police force, in the Army, we have the skills, it’s just that men see us as sex symbols,” she said. “I’m not going to be able to get the experience I need in a garage full of men. But there aren’t any women mechanics in my area, so I don’t know where it’s going to come from.” It gets better… -

For a while, Marie worked sixteen hours a week as a personal support worker, a job she hated, but one that was so minimal it allowed her to still claim benefits. Shockingly, that didn’t last (maybe she was too pretty?). No, that’s not the reason. Because of her part-time job, her kids no longer qualified for free school lunches. -
9.
Feeding her kids lunch five days a week was costing her more money than she made at her job, so she was “better off not working.”So in all seriousness, her drive to be a mechanic and get steady employment is commendable, but there’s more to the story, my friends. She recently announced that she intends to get a boob job, which doesn't help her case much in the public eye. -
10.
Then there's the fact that she's a former lap dancer, which doesn't sit well with some people (no pun intended). So she can’t work part-time, she can’t go back to dancing, but she can get a boob job and claim both welfare and sex discrimination in the world of mechanics. Where does that leave this mom? -

She claims her boyfriend would pay for the new knockers, and that, “I am doing this for myself not for anyone else. I feel after having eight children I need a little bit of help firming things up.”So she can’t work part-time, she can’t go back to dancing, but she can get a boob job and claim both welfare and sex discrimination in the world of mechanics. Where does that leave this mom?
