But as soon as you enter the foyer, you're transported right back to the 1950s. -

The living room is perfectly decorated with velveteen couches. -

Not to mention the pastel carpeting and floors. -

This lovely time capsule home is owned by 96-year-old resident in western Toronto. -

The home was built in 1940, and she has lived in it for 72 of those 76 years. -

"I've always tried to be individual, and follow my own style", says the homeowner. -

"I like soft colours and I like things to match and flow well together", she said, adding, "I prefer tone-on-tone to bright colours". -

She based the design around her favorite colors: pink, purple, seafoam, and teal. -

The house is now on the market as the homeowner will be moving into a retirement community. -

She says she'll bring some of her most valued possessions with her, but much of the period decor will be dispersed between her children. -

Most rooms have stayed completely untouched since their original design (as evident by the tiny tile and gold accents) -

The panelled basement and wet bar also still remain, perfect for hosting an "American Hustle"-style party. -
