Malcolm in the Middle was both a show loved by viewers and critics. Throughout its six-year run, the series won seven Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award, one Grammy Award. It was nominated seven times for the Golden Globes. -

The series revolved around Malcolm played by Frankie Muniz. Malcolm has an IQ of 165 and attends class for gifted children. In the show, the character Malcolm breaks the fourth wall in that he speaks to the viewer. -

Frankie Muniz played the title role of Malcolm. In the show, not only is Malcolm a genius but he also has a photographic memory. After the series ended, Muniz took a break from acting only making occasional TV appearances on shows like Criminal Minds and Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23. -

He has been engaged twice. He devotes most of his time now to his passion of race car driving. He suffered a small stroke in 2012 and another one a year later. -

Dewey is the youngest brother until baby brother Jamie makes an appearance on season 4. Played by actor Erik Per Sullivan, Dewey is musically gifted but is placed in a class for slower students through a misunderstanding. -

Stevie Kenarban played by Craig Lamar Traylor, is Malcolm's best friend in the whole wide world. In the show, Stevie is in a wheelchair and has difficulty breathing. His character was only written for one episode but he made such a good impression he was turned into a regular. -

Jane Kaczmarek played the loveable and stubborn mom Lois. In the show, Lois is always trying to keep her rambunctious boys in line. She resents that her husband's family and neighbours view them as "white trash." Although Kaczmarek received seven Emmy nominations for her portrayal of Lois, she never won. -

Bryan Cranston was the incompetent but loving father Hal in the show. Hal's character comes from a wealthy family. He is incapable of making a decision without the help and input of his wife Lois. After Malcolm in the Middle ended, Cranston landed the lead role in the critically acclaimed series Breaking Bad. -

Cloris Leachman is grandma Ida and Lois mother on the show. Ida hates her daughter Lois and actually sues her in one episode for falling on a leaf in front of her daughter's house. Leachman won two Emmy Awards for supporting actress in Malcolm in the Middle. She was the oldest contestant to ever compete on Dancing with the Stars in 2008. -

Lois' co-worker Craig Feldspar played by David Anthony Higgins also happens to be secretly in love with her. After the show ended Higgins has been busy appearing in TV shows like Californication, American Horror Story, and Mike and Molly.
