1.
Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer): There's a longstanding debate on whether Selina Kyle is a super villain, a soft villain, or an anti-hero, but her ability to manipulate the Caped Crusader through her own sexuality makes her a pretty awesome villain in our book. Batman looks the other way while she steals expensive jewelry, and doesn't even care that she's a crazy cat lady. -
2.
Mystique (Rebecca Romijn): Eat your heart out Avatar. Rebecca Romijn, as X-Men's Mystique, was the first to prove blue skin is red-hot. -
3.
Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson): We have been lucky enough to get a double dose of Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow in Iron Man 2 and the upcoming Avengers. But while her skin-tight suit may stop you in your tracks, so will one of her patented karate chops. -
4.
Susan Storm (Jessica Alba): We are all too well-aware of Jessica Alba's impossible good looks in Fantastic Four. Susan Storm/Invisible Woman's spandex garb is so flattering, even franchise haters would be willing to weather the (heh) Storm. -
5.
Green Lantern (Ryan Reynolds): If Ryan Reynolds' confident aura as Green Lantern didn't light up your life, just take a look at his pecs. Now, if only the film's box office was as attractive. -
6.
Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield): Oh, Andrew Garfield. Do you know what's better than a million dollars? The sight of you in red spandex. Way to put the Amazing in The Amazing Spider-Man! -
7.
Silk Spectre (Malin Akerman): Malin Akerman's Silk Spectre is appropriately named — she's as smooth as her enviable smooth hair. Plus, this girl knows how to ride (a motorcycle that is). -
8.
Batman (George Clooney): We know, we know. The Nipple Suit (TM). Still, come on guys. It's George Clooney. -
9.
Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire): Tobey Maguire may appear to be a dork behind Peter Parker's glasses (but then again, hipster glasses are in... ), but after he morphed into a much buffer superhero in Sam Raimi's 2002 film, the superhero-made spider bites sound good. -
10.
Superman (Henry Cavill): Why does Lois Lane get all the fun? Hopefully the new Superman, Henry Cavill, won't be blinded by his love for his Man of Steel co-star Amy Adams. Otherwise, none of us mere mortals stand a chance. -
11.
Catwoman (Halle Berry): Halle Berry as Catwoman: This superhero has nine lives, sometimes wears long, black leather gloves, and even carries a whip. Too bad this feline dominatrix couldn't dominate the box office. -
12.
Wolverine (Hugh Jackman): Hugh Jackman is half-animal but all man as Wolverine in the X-Men movies. But who's going to tell him that mutton chops were sooo 1865 -
13.
Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence): This femme fatale seems to have discovered the Fountain of Youth: Because she can change her appearance, no one knows how old she is. She's used her shapeshifting skills to steal military secrets and weaponry, but no one knows her true motivations. But there is some good — she's acted as foster mother to Rogue, and has even has helped the X-Men. She's an international woman of mystery — something the male-dominated comic world needed. -
14.
Pamela Anderson starred in the 1996 film adaptation of the comic book Barb Wire. -
15.
Brandon Lee made goth chic cool as the star of The Crow in 1994. Sadly, Lee died during production after a mishap with a prop gun. -
16.
Alias TV star Jennifer Garner appeared as the ninja Elektra in the goofy 2003 film Daredevil as well as her own spinoff two years later. -
17.
The beautiful Halle Berry is the only thesp on our list to appear twice. As Storm, she conjured and manipulated weather in three X-Men films. Thunderstorms never looked so beautiful. -
18.
In 1998, was there any other actor alive other than dashing Antonio Banderas who was born to play the masked Mexican avenger Zorro? He also appeared in the 2005 sequel. -
19.
Miss World Lynda Carter appeared as the Amazonian princess Wonder Woman (aka Diana Prince) on television from 1975-79 and soon found herself a household name. -
20.
In 1997, Clueless star Alicia Silverstone starred as a funky Gen-X version of Batgirl in the ill-fated Batman & Robin. While Silverstone did her part, the film, which starred George Clooney as the Caped Crusader, was so bad that the entire franchise was scrapped until Chritopher Nolan's 2005 reboot. -
21.
Who else to play Thor, the God of Thunder, other than strapping actor Chris Hemsworth? Long blonde hair? Check. ... Muscles like a lumberjack? Check. Look for the actor to once again to channel his inner badass in Snow White & the Huntsman. -
22.
As Captain America (aka Steve Rogers) isn't doesn't get any more apple pie than Chris Evans. Even though the actor appears as characters in other comic book movies (The Losers, Fantastic Four), it's his portrayal of the Marvel super soldier in the 2011 movie "Captain America: The First Avenger and The Avengers that places him high on our list. -
23.
In 1978, a star was born when strikingly-handsome Christopher Reeve played Big Blue and his alter ego newspaperman Clark Kent. While many other thesps have played the Man of Steel, his iconic performance has been etched into the memory of a generation. In many respects, he's the ultimate hero. -
24.
Some may feel that Bruce Wayne should be here but he's too much of a downer. That's why we're choosing dapper Tony Stark aka Iron Man, stupendously played by Robert Downey, Jr. After all, can we imagine anyone else at this point to portray the billionaire industrialist?
