Richard Donner’s 1985 kid-adventure masterpiece has become a massive pop culture reference point for 80s and 90s kids in the 30 years since it’s release. While some quotes and scenes (Truffle Shuffle, anyone?) are as memorable as ever, some of the stars may not be so easily recognized today.

Jeff Cohen as Lawrence “Chunk” Cohen

Josh Brolin as Brandon “Brand” Walsh. Brolin has been a Hollywood go to for years starring in Milk, True Grit, and OldBoy

Corey Feldman as Clark “Mouth” Devereaux. Corey was an 80’s darling starring in Stand By Me and a bunch of movies with fellow Corey, Corey Haim. He can now be found running his own softcore “empire” from his home in California.

Jonathan Ke Quan as Richard “Data” Wang. Quan spent most of his childhood on film, easily recognizable as “Short Round” from the Temple of Doom. He continued to be active until 2002.

Kerri Green as Andrea “Andy” Carmichael. Green had one or two major roles after the Goonies but took time off to go to college and never had a major role after. She started her own production company in 1998.

Martha Plimpton as Stephanie “Stef” Steinbrenner. Plimpton has had a very successful under the radar career since the Goonies. She was nominated for three consecutive Tony awards, and has had reoccurring roles on a number of TV shows.

Sean Astin as Michael “Mikey” Walsh - Then

Recognizable as “Rudy” or as Sam in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. He married Miss Teen USA Indiana (Christine Louise Harrell) in 1992 and had 3 children together.

He is still active in hollywood films.

But he is probably best remembered as the dude in this gif.

Anne Ramsey as Agatha “Mama” Fratelli

Sadly Anne passed away in 1988 and there are no more recent photos, but we thought you might enjoy a peek at a photo from her younger years.

John Matuszak as Lotney “Sloth” Fratelli

John was a professional football player and amateur Playgirl model. He also passed away a few years after the film released.
