Character lamps were huge for kids' rooms in the 80s -

Bedspreads were a thing and the sets came with cloth wall art, those pouches that hung on the side of your bed so you could tuck a magazine or box of kleenx in it and of course the matching window treatments -

Most of these were ordered from the Sears or Penny's Catalogs -

Sesame street was a pretty big deal -

And we all wanted one of these -

Garfiled was one of our first phones -

And the matching room decor -

Toy boxes were doubled as benches -

And Rainbow Brite had like 20 different prints so everyone knew a friend who had one -

This was in every playroom across america, in Transformers, strawberry shortcake, rainbow brite, everyone had a friend with this piece. -

The Purple Unicorn print was super popular in the '80s -

THe rocker everyone seemed to have (the cutouts and color were the only difference) -

Best rocking horse ever (until your older cousin who exceeded the weight limit BROKE it) -

And Cabbage Patch EVERYTHING could be found in girls' playrooms and bedrooms -

These were the art tables and snack spots of our youth. -

Everyone at least knew someone with a canopy bed. -

These were in the living rooms because though they were toys, they were acceptable "decor" for homes with children -
