Caves are meant to be left alone. While they may have provided refuge for early humans, now, the only times you hear about caves are when something cool is discovered in one or, more commonly, when someone gets stuck inside one and has to be rescued. Despite this, people keep descending into the caves—and proving time and time again why you shouldn’t do that. Take this video, for example, where a caver in search of an air pocket misses it and comes incredibly close to the warm embrace of Heaven.
