What a fun dystopia we’re living in! For years, people have complained about why school doesn’t teach more practical skills. Why do we spend so much time on trigonometry when we could be learning out how to fix a leaking showerhead — a skill I’ve needed significantly more often than trig?

While I’m sympathetic to this argument, I think one can take it too far. For example, this child says he took a workshop on how to manage an Airbnb — and now manages an Airbnb. Best of luck, kid — hope you don’t have to learn about regulation or the housing bubble anytime soon.
