There are more downsides to living in rural Alaska than just the cold.
Alaska is a place of incredible beauty—in certain parts. In others, it’s basically just frozen tundra, with most of your free time spent inside eagerly awaiting the month or so of enjoyable outdoor time you get every year.
Still, for one reason or another, people find themselves living in these faraway areas, and frequently, paying the literal price for it. This is how much it costs to fill up on groceries while living so far away from everything else.
