Hey, free fish!

Eating as much meat and fish as we do requires processing the animals at an industrial scale. While I think we all understand this at some level, it can be pretty jarring to see it in action — especially when we see the systems we’ve put in place to make all this easier go haywire.

In this situation, an Alaskan salmon processing plant had a little bit of trouble managing the amount of fish that came down its chute. Did I say “a little bit of trouble”? I meant “a hell of a lot of trouble,” as this problem caused a massive pileup that filled the floor waist-height with fish.
