If you’re trying to predict the future, you’re almost surely going to be wrong.

Our idea about the future is steeped in our present, so any attempt to see what comes next is going to have a distinct flavor of the here and now. For example, it’s pretty easy for someone in the past to say that tech will get smaller; it’s a much bolder prediction to claim that people will be jerkin’ it to live-streamed videos on their phones. And yet, both of those things came to pass.

Back in 1987, a group of television presenters tried to show what the future might look like. While some things are correct, others are hilariously wrong. Thank god we’re not all carrying printers while wearing ties that tell people if we’re sick.
