LAPD Volunteer Officer Responds to Bee Swarm, Gets Stung By Bees

"A sting operation. Of sorts."

That's what Twitter user @iohmbra is calling an LAPD volunteer officer's painful response to a swarm of bees in Los Angeles's Encino neighborhood.

According to ABC7, the bees took over the 17100 block of West Adlon Road around 3:47 pm on Monday, and authorities warned residents to stay inside. Unfortunately, one volunteer officer didn't get the memo and found himself face-first in the gutter with dozens of stings. It didn't take long for the internet to start having its fun with the situation.

The officer was reportedly transported to a local hospital where he received care, along with two other local residents. A professional bee-removal contractor was eventually called to solve the problem.

"Family is asking please not to send flowers," @LosAngelini joked.
