Growing up, the accepted wisdom was, “Work extra hard, and one day, those efforts will be rewarded.” Now, however, anyone who’s been in the modern work environment knows just how hollow those words are. Most extra effort is just roped into your standard paycheck, and if someone is going to reap the rewards of your hard work, it’s much more likely to be the boss’ son than you personally.


If you need proof, this guy gave 50 years of his life to 7-Eleven. His reward? An email with a picture of the CEO.

Some countries grab onto strange parts of Western culture. Walking through the streets of Eastern Europe or East Asia, it’s not uncommon to see bars themed around The Simpsons or Cheers, or stores peddling knockoffs that really need to be seen to be believed.


That said, most of these stolen IPs are pretty understandable. Friends has a famous cafe, so a Friends-themed coffee shop in the middle of Bangkok? Sure, why not. However, I’m not too sure about this Mr. Bean bar, especially given how over-the-top the design choices are. Take a look for yourself.
