Massive Earthquake Strikes Vanuatu
A 7.3 earthquake rocked Vanuatu on Tuesday, leaving 14 dead and over 200 injured.
According to press reports, “The earthquake occurred just before 1 p.m. at a depth of 35 miles and was centered about 18 miles west of Port Vila, the largest city in Vanuatu, a group of 80 islands home to about 330,000 people.”
While the worst of the earthquake is over, the country is still struggling to deal with what happened, with hospitals, water lines and phone lines suffering significant damage.
